South Wales Coaching Network

We have had an incredible year so far. Probably the most exciting development for us has been the ‘Coaches toolkit‘ sessions, where network members have been kind enough to share their expertise in particular areas and lead workshops for the group.

Gerrie Hughes took the lead with ‘Supervision’. The group had expressed a keen interest in exploring more about the elements of supervision – in response, Gerrie delivered a highly informative session which explored both the power and the value of Supervision.

Helen Whitney discussed ‘Peak moments’ with the group. In particular, we assessed how using this technique when working through career decisions and transitions can be hugely beneficial.

Gwenno Dafydd highlighted the method ‘Anchoring’. This engaging session looked at entering a resourceful state on demand, feeling and accessing strong positive emotions at the push of a button.

Manjula Bray led this session ‘Securing coachee accountability through change’. We discussed how to manage the conditions to ensure optimal engagement. There was also a by lively debate as we investigated how we retain the balances between our personal biases and the organisational culture.

Sue Revell expertly talked us through the NLP method of ‘Framing’. Attendees began by creating a physical timeline, then placing themselves on it. This allowed them to access events, feelings and identify behaviours displayed at that moment in time – enabling the process of previous successes to be replicated. There was much discussion throughout the session as many of our perceptions were challenged at times – identifying the ‘how’ rather than the ‘why’ was a hard habit to break but the session proved a most valuable learning experience.

So, we rounded up the season with a Summer Social event, which, as you can see from our video clip below, was a huge success!

We wanted to break from the norm a little and focus on doing something that was creative and activity based.

We were lucky enough to have Prith Briant lead this session on ‘Harnessing Creativity‘. This incredibly immersive and engaging experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
