First Anniversary Reflections

This time last year, on the eve of our management buyout, I was bubbling with a mixture of excitement and fear.  Could we do it?  Would clients have faith in us as owners of Insight?  Could we take advantage of all the possibilities and freedom we now had?  A year on, the answers seem to be YES (absolutely!), YES (why did we doubt it?) and starting to (big plans on the horizon)… 

Our super-strength has always been the team – everybody brings their own talents and perspectives.  We don’t always agree and we’ve had some robust debates but, as we tell clients, that’s a sign of psychological safety and the trust we have has only deepened through the year.  When one of us stumbles, the others hold her up.  When one of us wins, we all win. 

We have worked with some amazing clients and supporting them to find new levels of possibility and potential drives us.  We are growing our work in Bristol and London and using evidence from psychology and neuroscience to develop programmes that drive real insight and change. 

Our team of consultants continually bring new ideas and are so committed to making a difference.  They are amazing! 

Whilst year one was about stability, this year we are practicing what we preach and working on our own development.  One of my recent highlights has been working with our own coach to set our vision and goals for the next 10 years.  Again, I feel the same mix of excitement and fear about what is coming next! 

We believe strongly in the power of psychology to transform teams and organisations.  We want to make work more human and our ever-increasing understanding of human behaviour and neuroscience can change lives.  If every elite sports team works with a psychologist, then so should every leadership team. 

We have exciting plans for the next few months – our team is expanding and we will be unveiling our new brand and services.  Our next Disrupt HR South Wales is taking place on 15th March and we have speakers coming from across the UK.  Tickets still available here

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year, it means a lot that people believe in us.  We know that our work makes a real difference and we will continue to keep finding new ways to do that!
