CIPD Award ‘Best Consultancy’


We were thrilled to win this award in partnership with Catapult CSA.  The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years and it has committed to developing and investing in its people.

Since its inception in 2018, CSA Catapult has been dedicated to positioning the UK as a global leader in compound semiconductors, driving economic growth and innovation. Over the years, CSA Catapult has experienced significant growth, expanding from 6 to 97 employees. Insight HRC, a business psychology and leadership consultancy, has been a key partner since the establishment of CSA Catapult’s Newport Scientific Innovation Centre. 

Insight collaborated closely with CSA Catapult’s leadership to identify key challenges and develop tailored solutions. Through discussions, CSA Catapult highlighted the need to foster a culture of innovation, unify the senior leadership team, manage funding complexities, overcome recruitment challenges, and boost individual and team resilience, especially during rapid growth and the challenges of the pandemic. 

We followed a three-step methodology: Discover, Develop, Review. This approach involved thorough assessment, targeted skill development, and continuous evaluation. Using insights from psychology and best practices in leadership, we designed a program to equip CSA Catapult’s leaders with essential skills such as resilience, team building, and effective communication. 

 Throughout the partnership, we used a flexible approach, shifting from in-person to online delivery during the pandemic. Using simple and practical models like Resilience@Work and Conflict Dynamics Profile, we were able to provide targeted development activities tailored to CSA Catapult’s needs. 

Our programmes had a significant impact, including increased staff numbers, successful project initiations, improved employee engagement, reduced turnover, and more internal promotions. Testimonials from CSA Catapult’s leadership and employees highlighted the effectiveness of Insight’s interventions in building trust and enhancing leadership capabilities. 

Post-programme, we measured the level of confidence in applying what participants had learnt in their roles. Over 90% felt confident and were applying what they had learnt (creating resonance, managing change, coaching, practising BrainSmart communication)
