Effective teamwork is much more than simply a group of people who all work together to achieve the same aim.
The art of effective teamwork is when groups of staff genuinely cooperate to achieve results using a combination of qualities, including genuine trust, productive debate, and clear commitments to action. We also seek to develop a culture of celebrating productive behaviour whilst challenging dysfunctions, and focusing on the results and value the team is delivering.
Our approach to Team Development begins with the close analysis of the specific needs of your team. After all, the solution for each team will be as different as the people in the team.
We’re accustomed to working with teams from all sectors, and at all levels including boards, senior management teams, partnership teams and staff teams. We work both with teams that function well to help them move on to high performance, as well as facilitating a turnaround in those that are underperforming.
“We build long-term partnerships with our clients and feel personally invested in their success. We take a unique approach to each new challenge to get the best possible results.”
Pip Gwynn / Director and Business Psychologist
We also work with teams at each stage of maturity, from newly formed teams such as project teams that need to build a clear sense of direction, to long-established teams that need to overcome conflict or unhelpful habits and revive a sense purpose.
The Insight technique
Our analysis of team members is conducted through psychometric testing. We have access to a number of relevant psychometrics including MBTI, JTI and our very own inventory, the Team Effectiveness Questionnaire (TEQ). We also talk to key stakeholders to gain a good understanding before we work with the team as a whole.
We draw from a broad variety of tools and team development models, nurturing growth by tackling the real challenges facing the team. Our team development events simultaneously improve team relationships and generate solutions and action plans that help it achieve its objectives.
We believe in teams enjoying the process of becoming more effective through exciting and engaging away-days.
