What is business psychology?

“Business Psychology is the study and practice of improving working life. It combines an understanding of the science of human behaviour with experience of the world of work to attain effective and sustainable performance for both individuals and organisations” Association for Business Psychologists

At Insight, we use business psychology in three ways:

  1. Gaining an understanding of what is driving behaviour at a personal, team and organisational level (e.g. through psychometric profiling, assessment centres, questionnaires, surveys, interviews and focus groups)
  2. Designing and facilitating evidence-based approaches that change behaviour in order to improve wellbeing and performance (e.g. through coaching, team and leadership development, culture change programmes)
  3. Evaluating the impact of change interventions in an unbiased and rigorous way

How we do this

We apply psychological research in a pragmatic and engaging way. This means that you can trust that our work with you will be based on science but it won’t ever feel stuffy, preachy or overly academic.

We are an independent business psychology consultancy, meaning that we have access to a wide range of market-leading diagnostic tools, as well as designing our own robust questionnaires and assessments.

Our consultants have significant experience across all sectors and are committed to their own continuing professional development. This means that each intervention is designed and delivered with your particular needs in mind.

That doesn’t mean that your work with us will be easy! Uncovering and understanding your own behaviour, and the difficult realities of relationships and cultures can be uncomfortable. And changing beliefs and behaviours are hard and takes real commitment. However, we promise to be with you every step of the way to provide support, advice and encouragement.
