The Learn Grow Lead (LGL) Development Programme has been successfully delivered by Insight to the managers at Clear Channel since 2012. This revised programme was intended to build upon the original to ensure continuity of approach for new managers in the business.
The programme was designed to support the development of the skills and behaviours required to lead teams and deliver results. We introduced practical models to support leadership and management growth, and used a range of learning approaches to provide individuals with key skills for their roles. The programme’s core themes of personal leadership, building resilience and managing people were underpinned by Clear Channel’s core values and behaviours.
Central to the programme was the focus on achieving results through people and understanding your impact on others. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was used to provide a shared language with previous cohorts. This is a highly effective tool in understanding personality types and individual preferences.
The aims of the programme were to:
- Increase self-awareness to encourage personal growth and confidence
- Enhance ability to manage and work with a wide range of people
- Improve flexibility and decision making in delivering solutions to difficult problems
- Build stronger presence and personal impact on organisational performance
- Increase leadership and management capacity
- Increase organisational knowledge regarding the challenges and issues facing Clear Channel and their role in addressing these challenges.

“Thank you – I have taken so much away from this course and it’s given me a confidence I didn’t think I would find. Before this course I questioned if I could be a leader… now I know I can!”
“I loved it. Was one of the best things that happened to me this year and really helped me to know myself better and learn new tools.”
“I really enjoyed the process on the whole, and it has definitely made me more conscious of my own leadership style, which is really helpful. I also really appreciated getting the opportunity to meet people from other areas of the business that I wouldn’t usually get to meet.”
