The Learn Grow Lead (LGL) Development Programme has been delivering results for Clear Channel’s managers since 2012. This enhanced programme built upon the original, ensuring a consistent and effective approach for new managers in the business.
Our purpose was to empower leaders with the skills and behaviours necessary to lead their teams and achieve outstanding outcomes. We introduced practical models and diverse learning approaches to equip individuals with the essential skills for their roles. The programme focus was on personal leadership, resilience building, and effective people management, all firmly rooted in Clear Channel’s core values and behaviours.
Central to the programme was the focus on achieving results through people and understanding your impact on others. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was used to provide a shared language with previous cohorts. This is a highly effective tool for understanding personality types and individual preferences.
The aims of the programme were to:
Increase self-awareness to encourage personal growth and confidence
Enhance ability to manage and work with a wide range of people
Improve flexibility and decision-making in delivering solutions to difficult problems
Build a stronger presence and personal impact on organisational performance
Increase leadership and management capacity
Increase organisational knowledge regarding the challenges and issues facing Clear Channel and their role in addressing these challenges.
Programme Overview
Workshop One – Leadership 1
Explore what makes a great leader and the leadership skills and behaviours that are required at Clear Channel UK.
Workshop Two – Understanding Ourselves
Understand personal style and resilience and the impact this has on communication, collaboration and delivery. Participants set personal challenges for the programme.
Workshop Three – Leadership 2
Focus on delivery: understanding the future requirements of Clear Channel and the participants’ role in making that happen.
Workshop Four – Communicating and Influencing
Identify the skills of powerful communication and effective influencing to engage others.
Workshop Five – Leading High-Performing Teams
Supporting participants to understand the principles behind high-performing teams and the leadership skills required to build a team.
Workshop Six – Managing Performance
Managing performance through effective feedback, necessary conversations and coaching.
Workshop Seven – Coaching/Feedback Practice
An interactive workshop to allow participants to build their personal management ‘toolkit’ and put into practice learnings from the programme.
Workshop Eight – Strategy and Personal Learning Journey Exhibition
An interactive half-day session focusing on developing and implementing business strategies to deliver results, followed by an exhibition of individual development journeys and reflections on personal learning.
