Roland was keen to align the focus and performance of a small executive team with the strategic aspirations of its five year plan. This required developmental support for existing directors, plus the selection of new leaders to compliment the team.
Insight began by producing a range of leadership competencies, describing the attributes and approaches that would help to deliver the company's aspirations and goals.
With these 'success criteria' in place, we worked with the directors, using 360 degree feedback and a development centre approach, to determine their current strengths and development priorities. The development centre incorporated the use of psychometric tools and work simulation exercises including:
Each participant received a comprehensive report, outlining their relative strengths and focal points for development, alongside some guidance for improving performance. The process also served to highlight the best-placed candidate for the vacant position of Managing Director.

The process enabled a supported handover of the leadership of the business from Chairman to new MD, with clear identification of areas requiring coaching for the latter.
The process also facilitated the formation of cohesive Executive Team able to move decisions forward positively, balancing an ethos of mutual support and constructive challenge.
