The South Wales Coaching Network has been established to champion the value of coaching as well as to nurture and encourage continuous professional development of coaches in Wales. With a calendar of co-coaching forums, and speaker events, this Network aims to keep us all abreast of developments within coaching, and offers a platform for discussion and interaction with other coaches working in the region.
To quote the International Coach Federation: "It has become recognised practice that coaches at every stage in their coaching journey continually seek development, both personally in terms of deepening their coaching presence and awareness, and professionally in terms of competencies, ethics and standards."
Monthly Evening Forums - co-coaching and speaker events intended to provide opportunities for those passionately committed to coaching to connect with like-minded professionals. Run by experienced facilitators, who are themselves coaches and who follow best practice guidelines, this forum aims to spend as much time as possible in coaching practice and continually exploring new ideas.
Co-coaching is a three-way learning experience: coaching, observing others and being coached, providing an opportunity to reflect on your own coaching style and skills, and to experience and experiment with an amazing range of different coaching methods and approaches.
Speaker events are planned for once each quarter. A speaker will introduce a topic relevant to professional coaching and there will be an opportunity afterwards for practise and/or discussion. Topics for 2014 will include 'Resources for Coaches' and 'Measuring the Impact of Coaching'.
The Monthly Morning Forum - intended for developing coaches to grow their skills portfolio. Each session will provide input on a coaching tool or technique, followed by the opportunity to practice with peers. Participation will provide continuing professional development, and access to a network of like-minded people to share ideas and resources.
We aspire to be a vibrant and supportive community whose voice will be heard and respected within the Welsh business community and the coaching community beyond. We look forward to meeting you!
